Friends, at the beginning of July, we told you that Medirent company joined the team working on the development of an innovative online service to apply for qualification documents for seafarers.
We are content to inform you that the maritime sphere digitation is being implemented successfully. The first seafarer has confirmed his qualification through Diia!
An engineer officer, 27 years old, applied through Diia, completed the verification, and received the commitment notification. The electronic document copy is displayed in the personal cabinet. The original document is waiting for its holder to return from the voyage.
Fast, convenient, and – no interaction with the officials!
Now 50 seafarers are the participants of the beta-testing, and 13 of them have already got a positive response on the qualification documents approval. Those seafarers that have received the approval (but currently are abroad) can get the diploma on the state blank through the representative by the power of attorney.
Let us remind you that the seafarers participating in the beta testing can apply online for such documents:
- professional diploma (Certificate of Competency)
- confirmation of the professional diploma (Endorsement)
- competence certificates
- competence certificates confirmation
- specialist certificate of special training
Through the Diia portal, the seafarers also can apply for the computer testing CES 6.0., submit an electronic complaint against officials acting and receive the electronic qualification document in a personal cabinet.
200 persons will participate in the next testing stage. After the finalization of all technical processes, the free service will become available to all graduates of maritime universities, as well as sailors-captains or command personnel with the appropriate education, rank, and qualification.
Obtaining qualification documents through the Diia completely changes the interaction between sailors and the Shipping Administration. Makes it as transparent as possible and consistent with international standards.
Together with the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, and the Shipping Administration, with the expert and technical support of USAID/UK aid of the Transparency and Accountability in Public Administration and Services/TAPAS project, we create a reliable and convenient platform for the maritime industry.
